On 25 March 2016, a lovely spring Friday afternoon, the 9th Graduation Ceremony took place in Pakistan College of Law to celebrate the academic achievements of University of London International Programmes students studying in PCL. The friends, faculty and families of the graduates and Diploma in Law students gathered in the College to witness the Certificate Awarding Ceremony.

The Chief Guest on the day was Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, currently the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate of Pakistan who has previously served in Pakistan as Minister of Law and Justice as well as Minister of the Interior. The Guest of Honour was Dr Amjad Saqib, the Founder and Executive Director of Akhuwat, which is the largest interest-free microfinance programme in Pakistan. Mr Saad Wasim, Country adviser to the University of London International Programmes in Pakistan, was also present as a special guest at the Ceremony.

"The teaching and support staff were particularly acknowledged for their constant support and hands-on approach towards guiding the students towards exam success."

To the class of 2015 were awarded 21 LLB (Hons.) degrees and 20 Diploma in Law qualifications, alongside 40 Merit Certificates for individual subjects. Our students did us proud again this year by achieving a First Class Division with the Highest Global Aggregate grade in LLB (Hons.) and for being awarded by the University with Achievement Awards for obtaining in Pakistan the highest grades in the subject of Public Law. Alongside these achievements our students maintained their pass percentage in each subject above the global pass percentage and individually were awarded with a total of 40 Merit Certificates by the College on their individual subject exam results. The teaching and support staff were particularly acknowledged for their constant support and hands-on approach towards guiding the students towards exam success.

The performance and participation of the College Moot teams this year at more than 10 national and international level competitions was also given recognition by awarding them with Certificates of Appreciation and Trophies.

Speeches were made by graduates and Diploma in Law students on behalf of their class in which they narrated their experiences with humorous accounts of studying the law programme. The Chief Guest, along with the Guest of Honour, congratulated the class of 2015 for their achievements and advised them to build an environment of tolerance in their professional and personal surroundings. Parents were thanked for their efforts in supporting the students as well as for placing their trust in the College.

2015 was a memorable year for the academic achievements of our students in the law exams of the University of London International Programmes. It is hoped that the Class of 2016 will also excel in their exams this year.
