More than 130 graduates of the University of London, who studied at The University of Hong Kong, School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), attended a memorable presentation ceremony on 11 January 2015 at The University of Hong Kong Loke Yew Hall to receive their degrees. This year, five outstanding graduates received First Class Honours with Bachelor degrees in Accounting and Finance, Banking and Finance, and Computing and Information Systems.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, Professor Sir Adrian Smith, and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) and Chief Executive of the University of London International Programmes, Dr Mary Stiasny, attended this annual ceremony in Hong Kong and presented awards to the master, bachelor and diploma graduates.

Tsiang Shin TingDegrees of the Highest Standing
The Vice-Chancellor assured the students that their University of London degrees are of the same standing, and meet the same high requirements, as those of students who studied for their degrees internally at the University. Their academic success has been made possible by two of the world’s great universities – The University of Hong Kong, which operates HKU SPACE, and the 179-year-old University of London.

Tsiang Shin Ting (pictured left), BSc Accounting and Finance graduate with First Class Honours, said: “Accounting is vital in the business world nowadays. I chose to enroll on the University of London International Programmes at HKU SPACE as its flexible learning mode allowed me to work and study at the same time. Needless to say, the University of London is a top university. I have gained good knowledge of accounting and finance. I am pleased with my First Class Honours result and would now like to thank the HKU SPACE lecturers who provided me with excellent academic guidance and valuable advice. I would also like to thank my parents for their unfailing care and support during the tough process of completing a part-time degree while having committed to a full-time job.”

The University of London Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Adrian Smith, exchanged souvenirs with HKU SPACE Director, Professor C.F. Lee (pictured below right).
