“I’m honoured to have been able to meet some of the extraordinary graduates from the University of London’s International Programmes today. I’ve no doubt they are the leaders of the future and will go on do remarkable things.

“London is the higher education capital of the world, with more world-leading institutions than any other international city and students in more than 180 different countries.

“I congratulate everyone graduating today and I am sure their experience of studying with one of London’s finest institutions will have given them an openness to new ideas, new ways of thinking and fresh perspectives.”

Professor Sir Adrian Smith FRS said: “We are very privileged for Sadiq to have been with us at graduation and I am sure that everyone attending appreciated his presence and his inspiring message on the quality of their academic award.”

Dr Mary Stiasny, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), University of London International Programmes, said: “We were all very pleased that Sadiq Khan was able to meet with our graduates, who have travelled to London for their graduation from more than 90 countries this year.”
