The Careers Group has picked up the 2015 AGCAS Award for Technology for its ‘Enhance your Career and Employability Skills’ MOOC. Chosen by a panel of experts in the careers and employability field, The Careers Group MOOC succeeded in the face of strong competition from the University of Sheffield's 'How To Succeed At ...' MOOCs, and the University of Aberdeen's suite of online careers and employability courses.

In a Q&A with London Connection about the MOOC prior to its launch in May 2014, Course Instructor and Senior Careers Consultant, Laura Brammar, said: "This Careers MOOC is going to be of interest to pretty much everyone. Because whether they're at the initial stage of their career or coming up to retirement, who isn't going to find topics such as self-awareness and skills development interesting?" This has certainly been borne out: of the seven new MOOCs launched in 2014, ‘Enhance your Career and Employability Skills’ became the University of London’s largest single session MOOC to date, attracting over 89,000 active participants from over 200 countries, and the seventh largest on Coursera.

Commenting on the award, Laura said: "The MOOC has been an incredibly successful project of The Careers Group and is a testament to the significant skills and energies of the whole team. Winning this national award is a fantastic achievement and illustrates how we can apply our careers management and professional development expertise within new technological landscapes. We’re all delighted and looking forward to working with our project partners, The University of London International Academy to take this project forward in the future."
