The SIM men's team
A record-breaking win for the SIM men's team
It was a sweet double win as the women successfully defended their title while the men wrestled the trophy back from the defending champions

SIM became the crowned champions in the school categories at the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival on 16 July 2017. Held at Gardens by the Bay East, Passion Wave @ Marina Bay, the event was graced by the Singapore Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence Ong Ye Kung.

As they do every year, our SIM teams have been training tirelessly, with both the men’s and women’s teams striving to do well in their respective races. The women’s squad had their sights set on defending their title and retaining the trophy for the fourth year running at the Prime Minister Challenge Dragonboat Race (#GO4GOLD).

It was a sweet double win as the women successfully defended their title while the men wrestled the trophy back from the defending champions, Nanyang Technological University. The victory was made even sweeter as they not only emerged as the winners but also broke their 2016 winning timing!
