For details of the bookshops which our students have found useful please see the Bookshops [pdf: 4pgs, 589KB].
Some of these bookshops have mail order facilities (these are indicated). Online bookshops known to us are also given at the beginning of the list. We are also part of the Amazon affiliate programme.
We make every effort to update our reading lists and to ensure that texts are available, but it is unavoidable that sometimes new editions will suddenly become available or that books will be taken out of print.
If you are told that a book that is essential to your studies is out of print, do not panic. First, check with another source - some bookshop/libraries' catalogues are more up-to-date than others. If the book exists in a more recent edition, it is essential to use this instead. You might have to use the index carefully to find the information you need. If the book is completely unavailable, please tell us (see your Handbook for who to contact), and we will suggest an alternative.
If you cannot find a subsidiary or reference book [i.e. a book that is not essential but that would be useful for you to refer to], you can usually use the closest equivalent available. Most librarians or booksellers will be happy to advise you.
Further guidance on what to do if you cannot find the correct edition of a book is given in your Handbook.
