BA Philosophy

Birkbeck College

Birkbeck College is the Lead College for the University of London International Programmes’s BA and Diploma in Philosophy. The Department of Philosophy is responsible for the development and academic support for the programmes and it works in partnership with the University of London International Programmes to deliver the programmes.

Birkbeck College’s Department of Philosophy is among Britain’s best for research and study in philosophy, and is an active contributor to the programme of intercollegiate lectures, seminars and conferences that make London an important centre for philosophy. In recent national and international reviews, the Department of Philosophy was rated highly for its research record with respect to both UK departments and those in the US. It also received the highest possible score from the Quality Assurance Council for its teaching provision. The publications of the department’s staff are internationally recognised and cover the whole range of philosophical subject matters.
