Correction and clarification on Unit 112 assignment 2 [07/08] (09/11/2007)

In part A

"The polygon edge is to be the same colour as the background, with a contrasting edge colour."

should read

"The polygon is to be the same colour as the background, with a contrasting edge colour."

That is, the polygon edge should be visible against the background and its own interior.

In part B, a possible misreading has been pointed out as possible. If helpful, another way of expressing the question is "Second, extend your program to accept a second parameter, R, and for each vertex of the polygon draw a solid circle, radius R, centred at that vertex, so that N circles are drawn in all."

For part E, it has been pointed out that a possible interpretation of "A written (hardcopy) report..." might be that a HANDwritten report is wanted. This is NOT the case. As indicated in student literature from the University of London International Programmes, assignments should be generated using an appropriate word processor or similar - in this case a processor that can also handle images.

What the question is asking for is a printout (hardcopy) of the material, emphasising that, as always, an electronic submission alone is not what is required.

The course director is grateful to a lecturer at an institution for pointing out these matters.
