What documentary evidence do I need to support my application?

Undergraduate

Please supply photocopied evidence of your full name (including any changes to your name) and date of birth. This must be in the form of one of the following:

  1. birth certificate
  2. marriage certificate
  3. passport
  4. deed poll
  5. national ID card
  6. aliens registration certificate or statutory declaration

No other form of evidence can be accepted.

  1. You must supply acceptable evidence that you have achieved the qualifications listed on your application form. You must submit either the original copies of these or photocopies verified at a British Council office, SPACE (Hong Kong) or RELC (Singapore).
  2. If an original certificate is unavailable for any reason, you may either submit what evidence you have relating to the qualification(s) or await our initial response to your application. We’ll then advise you exactly what evidence you need to submit.
  3. If we need further information about a particular qualification (e.g. a transcript and/or syllabus), we may ask you to contact the appropriate awarding or examining authority to ask them to write to us direct giving further details of your qualification(s).
  4. You can send us your original result slip(s) of any examinations for which the final certificate has yet to be issued. Result slips from previous years cannot be accepted.
  5. We should receive all documentary evidence forwarded after the application form has been submitted within one month of the date of our request. If you’re unable to meet this deadline please let us know without delay.
  6. It’s your responsibility to arrange for all the necessary documentation to be obtained in support of your application. We cannot undertake to do this on your behalf.
  7. The University reserves the right to ask for further evidence of your qualification(s) if required.

We strongly advise you to send any original documents by Special Delivery (UK) or International Recorded Delivery (from outside the UK) and we will return them by the same method. Please allow sufficient time for your documents to reach London if you use regular post/airmail.
