The University of London has a long and distinguished history of working with teaching institutions around the world. In many cases, success in preparing students of the University of London International Programmes for their examinations has been the foundation on which the reputation of many institutions has been built and in a number of such cases, institutions that started out as a supporting institutions for students registered with the University of London International Programmes have gone on to gain university status in their respective countries.
Even today, independent institutions play a crucial role in supporting students on, and preparing students for examinations for programmes offered through the University of London International Programmes. To help guide students towards quality institutions, and to ensure that such institutions receive comprehensive support from the University of London, we have introduced a framework through which we recognise institutions that meet a certain set of quality criteria. Depending of which set of criteria are met, an institution is awarded either Affiliate Centre or Registered Centre status.
The benefits of having such a framework are twofold. From a student perspective, it guides students in choosing which institution to obtain support from. Details of institutions that are recognised by the University of London can be found on our Directory of Institutions.
From an institution perspective, it allows us to provide enhanced support to recognised centres and those institutions that have commenced the process of being recognised. To this end, we have developed an Institutions Support area for such institutions. Note: you will need login detail to access this area [see below].
We are always looking to develop additional relationship with high quality institutions. If you are a member of staff at an institution that is interested in becoming a recognised centre, please visit how we work with Independent Institutions for further information.
Please note: the Institutions Support pages are a password protected area. If you are a member of staff at either a recognised centre or an institution that has commenced the recognition process and have not been given instructions on how to log into these pages, please email: institutions@london.ac.uk
