A good honours degree or equivalent, in any subject, from an institution acceptable to the University.
A high level of English language ability in reading, writing and study skills. The University reserves the right to request that you take a test of English proficiency acceptable to the University before offering you a place on the programme.
To be admitted for this course you will also need to have a computer with access to the Internet*. The minimum specification is a 133Mhz, Pentium PC (266 Mhz recommended) or equivalent running Windows 95 or later, with 32Mb RAM and a screen resolution 800x600 colour or higher with a CD-ROM Drive and Sound Card and Speakers (or G3 Macs and later running at least Mac OS 7.0). The computer should have at least 1Gb of free hard disk space.
You will also need the following software:
Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above, JavaScript and cookie enabled (Mac users will need the latest version of Internet Explorer)
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 or above
QuickTime 6.0 or above
Flash plug in
Anti-virus software
A word processor and spreadsheet such as MS Word 97 and MS Excel 97 or above are also required.
* Please ensure that the computer you intend to use when accessing the VLE can accept cookies (students using a corporate or other network should check with their network administrator). Students who wish to use the VLE's offline capability must be able to install software on their computer.
Students are required to have access to a laserjet printer that can print a minimum of six pages per minute.
Students applying for Short courses should satisfy the entrance requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma or MSc. However, if you do not hold such qualifications, the University may still consider your application but will require evidence of your ability to undertake advanced study.
