Notes:
- If you pass the Diploma in Philosophy you will be invited to transfer your registration to the BA Philosophy and will automatically be credited with three of the papers passed in the Diploma. You will then go on to the further courses of the BA and will be able to complete the degree in a minimum of two further years. You will not have to pay another initial registration fee and the registration period of eight years will date from the initial registration for the Diploma.
- The course 'Introduction to philosophy' is available to study as an individual course.
- If you take 'Introduction to philosophy' as an individual course and obtain a pass mark of 50 or above, you will be considered for registration on the Diploma in Philosophy. If you progress to the Diploma, you will be credited with a pass in this course. If you satisfy the entrance requirements for the BA, having completed the 'Introduction to philosophy' course, you will be permitted to submit a new application for entry onto the degree. As 'Introduction to philosophy' is not part of the degree it will not be credited towards it.
