Advice about Books

You will be required to provide your own text books and periodicals for the programmes in Economics, Management, Finance and the Social Sciences. These will be the real focus of your studies.

Your study materials will tell you which books you will need access to for each of the subjects you are studying - some of these you will have to buy (because they are core texts that you will need to continually refer to) and some you will need to refer to in a library.

Students should refer to the introductory chapter of the subject guide for the unit in question which gives detailed advice for the reading required for each unit an dhow to approach it.

Details of libraries and bookshops known to us are given in the resource guide/handbook.

If you are in touch with other students, for instance through a study group, they might also be able to help you find other sources of books.
