International Programmes student experience surveys are aimed at helping the International Academy improve the range of services offered to students and to maintain an overview of the general student experience. These system-wide surveys have been operating since 2005 and have changed in methodology over the years. Currently students are able to complete an annual survey that allows students to encounter different types of questionnaire as they progress through their study. This has led to the survey timing shifting to December so that students about to graduate or who have completed their first year of registration can be targeted. The surveys attract approximately 7000-10000 student respondents a year.
Previous undergraduate student experience surveys were conducted in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010. The findings of the surveys are considered through a number of channels including the relevant International Academy Committees, individual Annual Programme Planning and Review meetings and through individuals, whether in the International Academy or based at Lead Colleges/Consortia. The documents below provide access to the survey results produced for International Academy committees and the London Connection newsletter.

The Annual Programme Planning and Review (APPR) is part of the annual reporting process for the University of London International Programmes. The review is an opportunity for Lead Colleges (or Consortium) and the University of London International Programmes to monitor the quality of our provision. The process considers the effectiveness of our programmes, identifies areas in need of attention, assesses whether aims, objectives and intended learning outcomes are being achieved, and seeks to disseminate good practice. It also provides an opportunity to initiate the planning of changes to programmes, as appropriate, and to consider University of London International Programmes issues.
A key element of this review process is the Annual Review Meeting, to which staff at the University of London International Programmes, programme teams in Lead Colleges (or Consortia) and External Examiners are all invited. Following the meeting, a report is drawn together, including the discussion and outcomes of the meeting, and other key information to reflect the programme and the performance of students in the reporting year (for e.g. management data and External Examiners' comments). When finalised, the report is forwarded to the Lead College/Consortia for the programme for formal consideration.
The Annual Programme Reports* are available for viewing to all University of London staff.
Issues, concerns and good practice from all of the annual programme reports are also summarised in the Overall Annual Report which is considered by University of London International Academy Committees and sent to the Collegiate Council of the University.

Periodic Review is one of the principal mechanisms that enables the University, as the awarding body, to review provision and, in conjunction with its collaborative partners, to monitor the standard of the award and quality of the provision. The aim of Periodic Programme Review is to ensure that all major aspects of International Programmes provision are reviewed over a four to six-year period. Each review is a shared responsibility between the International Academy and a Lead College and involves the participation of External academic subject specialists. Students are given the opportunity to give feedback to the panels conducting the reviews in order to inform their lines of enquiry.
This following document describes current practice with regards to the implementation of periodic review within a collaborative arrangement, the rationale and how responsibilities are discharged.

Thematic Reviews are central to the University’s systems for assuring the quality and standards of its International Programmes provision. These type of reviews complement both Annual Programme Planning and Review (APPR) and Periodic Programme Review (PPR) and provide a horizontal snapshot on a specific theme across the International Programmes. Each review is the responsibility of the International Academy and involves the participation of External subject specialists, Lead College staff and sometimes students.
This following document describes current practice with regards to the implementation of thematic review, the rationale and how responsibilities are discharged.
