Grace Martin
MSc Livestock Health and Production graduate, UK
“I wanted to develop my personal knowledge and understanding of global livestock. I lived on a farm and was working full time as a College lecturer but after teaching for a few years, I felt the need to stretch myself a little more.
The Royal Veterinary College attracted me because of its quality and the way the programme was structured. It allowed me to study when I wanted to and gave me time over the summer to finish my assignments, complete my study materials and revise for exams.
It has been one of the hardest things I have ever done but equally, one of the biggest achievements of my life. I have a more rounded awareness of the farming industry and am better placed to consider diversification options for the College that I work at.
I'd recommend this programme to anyone who has a real passion for livestock farming. You need to work hard but the rewards will outweigh the effort invested by far.”
In the past we have held online chat events - a transcript [PDF] is available which covers most of the frequently asked questions about these courses.
Students can also take individual modules of the degree as 240-hour
short courses or parts of each module as:

50-hour short courses:
Both the 240-hour and 50-hour short courses allow progression to one of the related degrees.
There is a range of other degrees available by distance learning including some in Agriculture from SOAS.
