6 Progression from the Work Experience Entry route

6.1

Students are not required to attempt an examination every year. In any year in which they choose to enter an examination, a student may attempt:

  • one new full course

or

  • two new full courses

or

  • one new full course and one re-sit

or

  • up to two re-sits

6.2

A student may take the two full courses required in any order.

Progression to the BSc in Computing and Information System and the BSc in Creative Computing

6.3

A student who has successfully completed the Work Experience Entry route by passing the relevant two full courses will be deemed to have satisfied the entrance requirements for the BSc in Computing and Information Systems or the BSc in Creative Computing and may progress to the related degree by applying to transfer their registration.

6.4

A student registered for the Work Experience Entry route who has not successfully completed the Work Experience Entry route may transfer to the BSc in Computing and Information Systems or the BSc in Creative Computing provided that he or she satisfies the entrance requirements for the degree.

6.5

A student who transfers to the BSc in Computing and Information Systems or the BSc in Creative Computing will be credited with the same courses passed as part of the Work Experience Entry route.

6.6

A student who transfers will not be allowed to enter or re-enter for a course for which credit has been awarded.

Transfer to other programmes

6.7

A student registered for the Work Experience Entry route (or a student who successfully completes the Work Experience Entry route) will not be permitted to transfer their registration to a programme of study within the University of London International Programmes, other than the BSc degree in Computing and Information Systems or the BSc degree in Creative Computing, under any circumstances. Students who wish to register for another programme will be required to cancel their registration for the Work Experience Entry route and apply to register afresh, subject to satisfying the entrance requirements given in the relevant Programme Specification. There is no provision for students to carry credit in these circumstances.

Transfer to the other Work Experience Entry route

6.8

A student registered for the Work Experience Entry route in Computing and Information Systems or the Work Experience Entry route in Creative Computing may apply to transfer their registration to the other Work Experience Entry route until the point that they have satisfied the requirement for the Work Experience Entry route for which they are currently registered.

6.9

Any common courses will be credited to the student and the mark achieved carried over. A student who has failed a course at the first or second attempt will be permitted to carry over the number of remaining attempts for that course. However, marks for courses which are not common to both routes will not be carried over on transfer. Students will be required to forfeit these courses.

6.10

Students must, on transfer, take any new courses required which have not previously been completed.

6.11

Marks for courses which are not common to both Work Experience Entry routes will not be carried over on transfer. Students will be required to forfeit these courses.
