Assessment methods

Each core PHM1 module (MSc, Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate) will be assessed by one two-hour unseen written examination (with an additional 15 minutes' reading/planning time at the start of the examination).

Each elective module (MSc and Postgraduate Diploma under the credit framework structure) will be assessed by one two-hour unseen written examination (with an additional 15 minutes' reading/planning time at the start of the examination) and a written assignment. The grade awarded for each module will be weighted 70:30 (examination: assignment).

The Project Report (MSc only) will be assessed by submission of one written report of between 7,000-10,000 words. It should normally be submitted in the final year of the degree. (Students registered for the MSc prior to 1 September 2011 may submit a project report of between 5,000-7,000 words.)

Written examinations are held at established centres worldwide. They take place on one occasion each year, normally commencing in June.
