IDM2

Content: The IDM2 modules consist of self-directed sections and materials are provided.

Assessment: Formal assessment of the IDM2 modules includes an assessed assignment (30%) and a 2-hour unseen written examination (70%). The examination paper may consist of a choice of essay and short answer questions.

Pre-requisites: Those wishing to study the IDM2 modules must have regular access to the internet to benefit from library facilities, participate in web-based conference discussions and submit assignments. Students should have a prior knowledge of basic biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology and parasitology in order to be able to work through and benefit fully from these modules. Further pre-requisite knowledge may apply and is noted below.

Correction 21 September 2011

The sentence "Students should have a prior knowledge of basic biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology and parasitology in order to be able to work through and benefit fully from these modules" has been added to the general pre-requisite advice and is applicable to modules IDM201, IDM202, IDM203, IDM205, IDM210 and IDM213.

Pre-requisite: To benefit fully from this module those who register for it are strongly recommended either to be currently working in or to have previously worked in a hospital. The type of hospital is unimportant.
