You can submit an application to the External System at any time of year. To be able to sit your first exam in the following year, your application must be received by the University before the deadline date. However, in order to avoid delays on a decision being made on your application, you are strongly advised to submit your application well before the deadline date.
With the exception of the online degrees (see below), the deadline date for receipt of applications is 17 September for those who reside outside the European Union (EU) and 17 October for those who reside within the EU.
Applications for undergraduate study which are received after the September/October deadline dates will be acknowledged and kept on file ready to be processed in January when the new admission year begins. Please note, you would not be able to register or take the first examination until the following year.
The application deadline for the online BA degrees in Classical Studies and History is 30 June and the application deadline for the online BSc Business Administration is 24 August. Applications received after these deadline dates will be processed with a view to making an offer for the following year.
Depending on how early you submit your application form, if your application is straight forward and you submit all the required and acceptable documentary evidence in support of your application, it will normally take around four to six weeks to process your application. If you are eligible for admission, you will be sent an 'Offer letter', a registration form, a fee slip and a copy of the current Regulations.
Once registration forms and payment are received, you will receive confirmation of your registration and your study materials will be despatched. This will allow you to begin studying immediately with a view to sitting your first examinations, should you wish to, in May/June of the following year.
The study year for online degrees runs from October, when study materials are despatched, through to May, when examinations take place.
An application will only be accepted for processing for the immediate intake if it is received before the deadline date. Applications for online degrees which are received after the deadline date are processed, and if the applicant satisfies the entrance requirements, an offer will be made for the following year. For all other degrees, applications received after the deadline date will be acknowledged and kept on file and will be processed when the new admissions year begins in January .
