Teaching institutions have played and continue to play a central role in the ongoing development of the University of London International Programmes. Although the majority of our courses have been designed such that they can be completed through independent study, over half of all our students choose to benefit from the additional tuition and support provided by local teaching institutions.
In recognition of the importance of such institutions, in 2009 the University of London introduced a framework which provides a formal basis for recognition. This framework, known as the ‘Teaching Institutions Recognition Framework’ recognises institutions that meet a set of specific quality criteria. Today we have a network of 118 centres within the framework, of which 80 have achieved full recognition. The network spans 46 countries.
